My curiosity about human nature has led me to a lifelong pursuit to improve how we make career decisions.  When we understand how our minds work and why, we get much better at making the big choices in life.

My latest work is to look at “career” in a big picture sense; to include the variety of activities we pursue as individuals and as a society, such as parenting, education, career direction, business, art and science, public policy, and governing. 

It’s fun and freeing to view our everyday career pursuits through a scientific lens.  Understanding what makes us tick comes into focus when seen through the lens of the latest discoveries in evolutionary psychology, sociobiology and brain science.  I’ve been having great success applying these findings in my career consulting work.

With 15 years of career change consulting and thousands of career seekers under my belt, it’s clear that even the most brilliant minds are grappling with how to solve their career puzzle.  The good news is, most of the know-how is already discovered; now, we just need to let go of our comfortable ways of thinking about our education and careers.
