I feel very good about the way this is unfolding for several reasons, but most of all because my new career path is something that I chose (with your help!) and created. Simple as it sounds, the sheer act of choosing—as opposed to responding to and trying to fit someone else’s hiring need—is something I have never done before. It’s created a major shift for me already.

So far this oppty is moving steadily forward every few days (amazing progress since my first contact with this cool, new company), and is playing out remarkably smoothly. It’s refreshing to find an environment where I can “fit right in” and be creative without having the uphill battle of learning all sorts of dry technical stuff about which—as you aptly noted—I often could care less!
